Evan Ferguson (Brighton) - £6.0m

We promise we're not biased here. Evan Ferguson is one of the best young forwards in world football, and has the potential to kick on and achieve even more this season than he did last.

Only 18, Ferguson burst into the Brighton team post-World Cup, scoring six goals and providing two assists as the Seagulls qualified for the Europa League. Couple that with Brighton's relatively straightforward opening set of fixtures, and the likelihood that Ferguson will see more game time next season, and he becomes a very tasty option at just £6.0m.

Or, alternatively...

Joao Pedro (Brighton) - £5.5m

Joao Pedro is slightly cheaper than Brighton's other striker, and he may end up being a slightly stronger option.

Pedro has been taking penalties in pre-season for the Seagulls and, should that continue, could ultimately prove to be better value than his counterpart up front for Brighton.

It could be worth a gamble on either Pedro or Ferguson for gameweek one.

Yoane Wissa (Brentford) - £6.0m

Ivan Toney's absence will hit Brentford hard next season, with the English striker banned until January. Toney was essential to all of Brentford's attacking play last season, and his lengthy absence up front will hurt the Bees.

With Toney gone, Yoane Wissa will be even more crucial to Brentford's play. Of the FPL forwards priced under £6.0m, Wissa chalked up the most points last season, finishing with 111. In fact, he is the only forward in this price bracket who managed more than 100 points. A very strong option.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Everton) - £6.0m

"DCL" did not have his finest year with Everton last season but, then again, neither did any of his teammates.

Sean Dyche has at least imposed some structure on the team which was sorely lacking under Frank Lampard, and they will hope to build this season under the former Burnley boss.

Calvert-Lewin will hope to return to his goalscoring form of 2020-21, when he racked up 16 goals and six assists. If he shows sign of that form, £6.0m becomes a very reasonable price.

Danny Ings (West Ham) - £6.0m

Danny Ings England

A player we're surprised to see priced this low, given his consistency in front of goal when he's gotten game time over the past few years. Ings struggled to nail down a spot in the West Ham team at points last season but, when he did play, he managed eight goals and two assists.

If he can make the striker's spot his own, he will provide goals. And, if he doesn't, teammates Michail Antonio and Gianluca Scamacca are available at the same price point.

Carlos Vinicius (Fulham) - £5.0m

A slightly more left-field pick, Vinicius will be especially crucial to Fulham this season if leading man Aleksandar Mitrovic is to depart the club.

Vinicius managed five goals and two assists for the Cottagers last year, and will likely have a more prominent role in Mitrovic's absence. Fulham outperformed their xG significantly last year, so he is a risk, but £5.0m is very affordable for a young striker who showed promising form in front of goal last year.
