Luke Littler fell at the first hurdle at the Premier League Darts in Dublin after being sent packing by Gerwyn Price at the 3Arena.

The teenage darts sensation, who achieved his destiny in winning the World Darts Championship last month, was the star attraction on the night in front of a packed crowd in the capital.

He has been busy since crossing the Irish Sea, surprising the D7 Darts Academy in Cabra in North Dublin on Wednesday in a brilliant gesture,

However, Price - who is usually the pantomime villain on stage - is a crowd favourite in Ireland and had the backing of a vocal crowd in a 6-4 win.

Luke Littler had go at Dublin darts crowd

The Welshman forged out a 4-1 lead and missed darts to make it 5-1 before Littler pinned an unorthodox 109 checkout to get back into the fixture.

Littler accidentally hit double 12 when aiming for the single to leave Tops, leaving himself unsure on what he had left and causing a pause in play in the process.

Littler, aware of the crowd's antics, turned around and gestured at them to keep the noise down after responding with a big finish on the board.

He would close the gap to within a leg, but Price was excellent, teasing a nine-darter before finishing the match on Tops for an impressive 12-dart leg and the win.

Great entertainment from the PDC's annual roadshow.

The crowd was on it from the start of the night, belting out David Guetta's 'Titanium" as Stephen Bunting made the first walk-on of the night.
