Darts star James Wade has delivered possibly the most stereotypical Darts moment of the year with his brilliant response to social media allegations that he let out a 'shart' during his Players Championship match with Callan Rydz.
41-Year-Old Wade is a prolific player on the professional darts circuit. While he defeated Callan Rydz 6-5 with a comprehensive performance, it was Wade's peculiar antics that got everyone talking.
Considered one of the best talents of his generation when he broke onto the professional darts scene, Wade became the youngest-ever player to win a major PDC title when he won the 2007 World Matchplay at just 24 years old, winning eleven PDC majors since.

Professional darts star responds to onstage 'fart'
However, despite his impressive record, it was Wade seemingly letting out a fart - or in his own words a 'shart', that was making headlines this week.
In plain sight of the camera and earshot of the microphones, Wade was spotted walking over to a table after the eleventh leg of his match, slightly bending his knees before a sound resembling a loud fart let rip through the arena.

While we'll leave it up to you to decide what happened, in true Darts fashion, Wade unashamedly took to Twitter to own the mishap, joking that it was simply the sound of his velcro shoes.
I feel I must address a situation following my run to the semi-finals of PC22 today. Footage has emerged of me doing what appears to be a "shart" at the end of one of my matches, It was actually the velcro on my new trainers. I now consider this matter put to bed as don't wish to talk about it again.

In fairness to Wade, he owned the moment brilliantly and is surely in the mix for 2024's best response to a sporting mishap.
