On an already dramatic day at the Tour de France, Stage 19 was called off as riders descended l'Iseran in the Alps after a freak snow storm hit the French Alps.

Yeah, despite Uran’s insistence, I don’t think that’s rideable in all fairness #TDF2019 pic.twitter.com/jcVIL0UMjK

Global warming doesn’t give a fuck! It cancels early season ski races due to lack of snow and ends Tour de France stages early because of snow pic.twitter.com/GQvbEAhAnN

The snow caused a landslide and major chaos as the stage neared its dramatic conclusion. France is in the midst of a ridiculous hot spell with temperatures in the 40s, making this snowstorm even more mad.
The stoppage of the stage of the Tour will have major consequences on the result of the tour, as Alaphilippe was hoping to gain time on Bernal.
Riders were angry but conditions were deplorable.
They made right call on neutralizing finish — no way they could race safely in these conditions; road flooded with water, ice, hail, slush pic.twitter.com/MtVJEjMREO
