It's the sort of thing that you'd expect in rural Ireland, and not one of the biggest professional cycling grand tours. A herd of cows decided to get a bit too close to the action during yesterday's stage at the Tour. Things got a bit too close on one of the quick descents on the mountaineous stage, with French rider Warren Barguil was almost forced off road.
Things got even closer for the TV camera car, and the main positive is that the peloton weren't around for this invasion. The lesson learned here is that the crowd needs to stay back on the high-speed descent.
It does seem that this isn't a new phenomenon on this stage of the tour, as this picture from 1910 shows from the same mountain stage:

Ireland's Dan Martin had a fantastic ride on the stage, claiming his second second-place of the tour and rocketing up the General Classification up to 16th after starting the day in 30th, gaining five minutes on the leaders.
