Latvian cyclist Toms Skujins was completely wiped off his bike yesterday in the second stage of the Tour of California. He had just under 23 kilometres left to complete when he took a tumble but amazingly attempted to get back on his bike and complete the race.
Skujins was clearly concussed and could barely walk straight, never mind cycle straight. After landing face first onto the concrete, he then nearly collided with the on-coming cyclists while trying to remount his bike. Risky business.

Many were surprised how Skujins was even helped get back on his bike in the first place.
Why would anyone who was near Tom Skujins think it was a good idea for him to keep riding???!!! WTF?

Could not understand how they let Tom Skujins continue to get back on his bike on a descent, he was in no state to ride

I was shocked at Tom Skujins' crash but more shocked no-one stopped him getting on after nearly taking out 1/2 the peloton crossing rd #AToC

Will somebody with a bit of sense please get Tom Skujins off his bike and off to hospital. That was fucking ridiculous. Clearly concussed.

Although Skujins has been ruled out for the rest of Tour, at least he still has his sense of humour.
I would never suggest getting in a fight with tarmac because you will loose. pic.twitter.com/YCqHNbgwDc
