Remco Evenepoel has suffered a nasty crash during today's stage of Il Lombardia in Italy, appearing to fall over the edge of a bridge.
The Belgian is one of the rising stars in cycling, being considered one of the brightest prospects in the sport at only 20-years old.
He was taking part in the Italian event today with his team Deceuninck–Quick-Step when footage appeared to show him falling over the side of a bridge during the race.

It was hard not to fear the worst for Evenepoel after viewing those pictures, but it has been reported that he is conscious and being looked after by on-site medical staff.
Italian TV reports that Remco Evenepoel is conscious and being attended by ambulance staff.

Pictures would also appear of the Belgian, where he is seen speaking to a doctor. He was then rushed to a nearby ambulance

While he may have suffered some injuries here, it looks as though it may not be as serious as first feared.
