So first Martyn Irvine wins a brilliant silver medal in the Individual pursuit. Less than two hours later he was world champion thanks to this performance (all 25 minutes of it).

It's been some day for Irish cycling. The Giro D'Italia announces that it will start the 2014 race in Ireland, 'first medal by an Irishman in track cycling since 1897 and Ireland's first senior elite world champion since Stephen Roche in 1987.
