Irish cyclist Matt Brammeier was competing in the sixth stage of the Tour of Utah last week when he collided with a car whilst going too fast to take in the upcoming hair pin turn.
A service car was taking a wide angle at the hairpin turn when Brammeier comes flying in too fast and smashes into the side of the car. It's quite a noise as he hits the vehicle. It becomes very evident quite quickly that Brammeier is quite injured, as people try to get the upcoming cyclists to slow down, not before a motorbike takes out another two cyclists.
Brammeier was taken to hospital, and was well enough to post to twitter reassuring people that he was doing well. He was diagnosed with fractures to his ribs, sacrum, and pelvis. His condition is listed as stable, and it's thought that he may not need surgery.
All good in the hood guys. Thanks for the messages. pic.twitter.com/SGB8NEssCF
