You may have seen that the leader of the An Post Rás was disqualified yesterday after hitching a ride on the back of his team's car. Italian Francesco Reda was wearing the yellow jersey but he was turfed out of the race after holding on to the back of the car while returning to the race following a puncture.
As a result, officials took the decision to remove Reda from the race and he wasn't very happy about it.

The second stage of the race was taking place between Carlow and Tipperary (not that we're saying that had anything to do with what Reda was smelling). And if there was a smell, New Zealand's Aaron Gate didn't seem to mind as he took the stage win with a sprint finish in Tipperary town.
