There are a few eternal wars in existence that there is just no solution to. Good vs Evil, United vs Liverpool, Barrys vs Lyons, Trump vs Truth.
But all of these pale in comparison to the true unsolvable war of our time - Motorists vs. Cyclist.
Every driver spends about 90% of their time behind the wheel either trying to get around cyclists, being cut off by them or shouting that "they think they own the road" .
Cyclists meanwhile complain about menacing cars getting driving up their arse, and about being cut off by them or shouting that "they think they own the road" .
There's no solution to this, even for the most successful cyclist in the world. Chris Froome is someone who a lot of people get annoyed by, for various reasons, but it certainly seems that getting run off the road by an angry motorist might be a new one.
Just got rammed on purpose by an impatient driver who followed me onto the pavement! Thankfully I'm okay 🙏 Bike totaled. Driver kept going! pic.twitter.com/o7FT4iXsAo

Look at that bike! It's destroyed. This apparently deliberate act of road rage was obviously extremely dangerous and Froome was lucky not to be injured.
The driver wasn't hanging around to find out though. Angry drivers and cyclists in the cities and towns of Ireland should at least be thankful they're not travelling the mountain roads of rural France on a daily basis. That's where the real danger is!
