There was a party atmosphere in Edgbaston on Saturday as England convincingly won their test series against the West Indies by an innings and 209 runs. and it was quite clear that England were going to do the job with plenty of time to spare.
With fancy-dress costumes dotted around the ground, a beach ball naturally started making its way around being batted from one section to another, until someone had the great idea to thump it onto the playing surface.
This prompted a steward to confiscate it, and this did not go down well with the crowd, most of which had turned their attentions to the beach ball rather than the cricket.
Soon fancy-dressed fans of all shapes and sizes were charging to one section of the ground where the steward was keeping the ball, much to the delight of the commentators and even the players on the pitch.
Incredible.
The running commentary was superb, as was Joe Root's reaction as he was able to take his focus off the game for a little bit with the result in the bag. There's nothing quite like the mob mentality, thankfully this time they united for a good cause. Or at least a fun one.
