A sporting legend's career is drawing to a close as Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar plays his 200th and final test match against the West Indies in Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium. He ended the first day on 38 not out, after receiving a guard of honour amidst the adoring support of 32,000 extremely fortunate fans.
More than 20 million people applied for tickets for Tendulkar's final match. That really is incredible. 19,968,000 were left disappointed

Regarded by many as the greatest batsman of all time, some of his career numbers are simply staggering, with over 34,000 runs.
Sachin Tendulkar has played over 5 times the amount of One Day Internationals that Ireland ever have! #ThankYouSachin #legend

Two Irishmen cricketers are among those who know how it feels to get Tendulkar out.
First Roger Whelan bowled the 'Little Master' in Belfast in 2007.
And George Dockrell managed it at the Cricket World Cup in 2011, a few days after Ireland's famous victory over England.
