George Hook has gone on to town on Irish cricketers Eoin Morgan and Boyd Rankin, accusing them of abandoning their country, 'no more than Keane in Saipan.'
Morgan and Rankin switched their allegiance to England so enable them to play test cricket.
On this week's edition of Ireland's cricket podcast The Slog Sweep, In his usual theatrically angry tone, Hook announced that 'every time that guy Morgan and that guy Rankin hit a four or take a wicket I do my nut because no more than Keane in Saipan they have abandoned their country.'
A frustrated Hook said that 'we're only a spit away from test status and if we had Morgan and Rankin I think we'd be much closer.'
