George Hook Cricket Comments Lead To Some Heated Debate On Our Facebook Page

*Rabble rabble rabble*

So it turns out Irish Facebook users are none too happy about losing our talented cricket players to England, which comes as a surprise, seeing as it mirrors the thoughts of the (sometimes) opinionated George Hook.

With little idea of how much traction a story revolving around one of the country's least followed sports would create, we were shocked to see the onslaught of comments we received from both sides of the argument.

And just like an Anthony Nash penalty, the rising of this subject caused widespread fear, anger, shock, and disappointment.

So, we've decided to put together some highlights of what will be looked back upon in the annals of history, as one of THE premier social media based Irish cricket debates.

We put it you our Facebook followers if George Hook's comments were harsh or not?

Wow, that escalated pretty quick, but not to fear. Social media attracts smart alecks like All-Ireland Final Day attracts homemade sandwiches, so thankfully these fellas tried to defuse the situation.

Unfortunately for those enjoying the nonsensical ramblings of the anti-Brit brigade, cricket loving paddies had to ruin the thread by spamming it with well though-out, clear, concise points.

And so ended a discussion for the ages, and still, few of us are the wiser about the actual rules of the sport. The only conclusion we drew was that we wish the best of luck to the two traitors/victims of circumstance/Irish men who move abroad to earn a living (imagine that).
