'Eoin Morgan, you are the man,' declared the Australian commentator after the Dubliner hit a dramatic six to seal a Sydney Thunder win against Melbourne Stars in Big Bash League.
It was Morgan's final game for the Thunder before he heads to India for a three-match series with England.
With one ball left to keep the Thunder's season alive and the side requiring five runs to win, Morgan smashed a six to send the commentators in raptures.
After the game, Morgan, who hit 71 off 50 balls, called it an 'unbelievable' moment.
It’s quite an extraordinary feeling when you get one as cleanly out of the middle as that.
It’s a bit like standing on the (golf) tee box and smashing one straight down the middle. When you hit it, you’re the only person who knows how well you’ve hit it.
Sydney went into the final over requiring 16. Along with Morgan, their cause was aided by Paddy Cummins who also hit a six just moments before the Irishman.
