Ireland's sensational victory over the West Indies yesterday in Jamaica is not the first time we have defeated that famous cricketing nation. In 1969, in Sion Mills in Derry, Ireland bowled out the West Indies for the absurdly, nay freakishly, low total of 25. Ireland's bowlers Dougie Goodwin and Alec O'Riordan shared Ireland's ten wickets with a couple of run outs thrown in.
In fact, Ireland have beaten 'the windies' on four occasions, in 1928, 1969, 2004 and yesterday.
