We Irish love a good bandwagon and there's nothing wrong with that. However, number one rule when you're a blatant bandwagon jumper? Learn the terminology so that you don't get caught rapid (as some might say).
Minister for the Environment, Alan Kelly, whose name has been inextricably linked to the water charges issue in recent months, today took a break from all that to congratulate the heroic Irish cricketers on their incredible win over the West Indies in the early hour of the morning.
However, he failed to give 'cricket scores' a quick google and instead congratulated their team on their 'four point' win over the Windies. Come on Alan, everyone knows it's a four stump win. (That's a joke, honestly. Although if it has to be explained then it's obviously not a good one)
He should have read this first: A Comprehensive History Of Irish Bandwagon Jumping
We'll throw in a picture of the tweet just in case he deletes it.
Huge congratulations to the the Irish Cricket Team on their four point victory over the West Indies. A massive achievement.
