Eoin Morgan was named England ODI captain late last year. The Dubliner has played for them since 2007.
Under him, England lost their opening Cricket World Cup match to New Zealand. Piers Morgan called it their worst defeat in 150 years.
The former Daily Mirror editor has issues with Eoin Morgan's captaincy style.
Very disappointed in @Eoin16 too. Doesn't demand his best team & doesn't change a single player after THAT defeat? Weak.

That's not his only problem with him though, he also disapproves of the England captain not singing the national anthem.
And if you want to captain England, @Eoin16 - then sing the damn national anthem, too.

I'm Irish, but if I made myself available to play for England at any sport, I'd sing the English national anthem. End.

Sportsmen can't wait to accept honours from the Queen & be paid with notes featuring her head, but don't want to sing the anthem. Wrong.

Gary Lineker came to Eoin Morgan's defence saying that singing is just for show and that you should show pride with your performance.
@piersmorgan @Eoin16 Not everyone is comfortable singing. Some do, some don't. Doesn't alter performance.
— Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) February 22, 2015
@piersmorgan @Eoin16 why? I used to hate singing it. Still do. Mainly because I'm hideously bad. Don't understand why it's important.
— Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) February 22, 2015
@piersmorgan @Eoin16 you show your pride with your performance. You give your all on the field. Singing is for show, an irrelevance.

And regarding Piers Morgan's Irish heritage, his father was Vincent Eamonn O'Meara from Offaly.
