Having damage done to your car is upsetting at the worst of times, but when you think it happens on live TV, what can you do? In an New Zealand Twenty20 game between Otago Volts and Northern Knights, legendary New Zealand commentary Ian Smith watches batsman Jesse Ryder smash a six over a gap in the stadium and over a hot dog stand.
You can hear the anguished commentator as he realises the ball is going towards where his car is parked. The cricket ball does hit a car, and Smith's anguish increases as it becomes apparent that he thinks it's his rented car. That walk up to see if the car was his must have caused heart palpitations.
