Tyson Fury's press conferences have become press events in recent years, and today's assembly with Wladimir Klitschko was probably more exciting than their July rematch will be.
After recent back-and-forths with Anthony Joshua about his body shape, Fury shed more light on his conditioning - or lack thereof - and explained his sole motivation for being the undisputed World heavyweight champion.
They [legacies] don't mean a lot to me. Boxing doesn't even mean much to me, otherwise I wouldn't go into camp four stone [heavy] every week having eaten every pie in Lancashire and drunk every pint in the UK,
he told reporters.
I hate every second of training. I hate boxing. I hate the lot. I hate speaking to you idiots. I'd rather be at home watching television with my kids and eating chocolate. I hate boxing but I'm just too good at it and I'm making too much money. Easy money to be made.
The 27-year-old Mancunian went on to suggest he doesn't make enough physical sacrifices to class himself as an athlete, before whipping off his t-shirt to reveal a significant belly just seven weeks out from his rematch with the long-reigning former champion.
He told the ever-entertained press:
People do these sports for different reasons. Wladimir is already a multi-millionnaire so it's obviously something he loves to do. When you're like that, you're capable of anything.
I don't live a strict lifestyle. I don't even live an athlete's lifestyle. It's an absolute disgrace to call me an athlete.
Does that look like a fighter's body? Clearly not. That's who beat you [Wladimir]. Shame on you! A fat man beat him and relieved him of all his belts.
I don't take boxing seriously, as you can tell. It's about getting a few quid and putting food on the table. What's the point in practising your job for 40 years if you can't beat a fat man?
Want to see love-handles? Want to see a belly? But can I fight? Yes.
Though Fury's comments were clearly constructed to rile Klitschko, who is renowned for his consummate professionalism but dropped a decision to the love-handled Manc back in November, the current heavyweight champ seemed far more reflective and self-aware than usual, at one point even questioning his 'bad guy' role in the sport.
I am really a joke, aren't I?
he asked.
When you think about it, it's quite funny. Every single time, I'm the outlaw, the villain, the bad guy - every single media event. People obviously like to see that - the majority do.
He also told Klitschko:
You couldn't knock out a wank, mate - let alone a fat fucker like me.
