Kell Brook was on the comeback trail tonight. After two damaging defeats - professionally, and physically - Brook faced Sergey Rabchenko in Sheffield.
A test of Brook's durability after consecutive defeats to Gennady Golovkin and Errol Spence Jr., he made short work of his Belorussian opponent.
Hopeful that tonight's bout could set him on the road for another World title fight, he fought Rabchenko at light-middleweight; having lost his IBF World welterweight title last time out.
Having suffered serious damage to his eye-socket in those two previous bouts, Brook revealed in an interview with Donald McRae the extent of those injuries:
The trouble intensified against the gifted Spence eight months later. In the ninth round the socket in Brook’s left eye was damaged. He talks now of the haunting sound it made – like “a crab claw popping."
While many will now relish the prospect of potentially seeing Brook take on Amir Khan in an all-British challenge, for now, just enjoy this ferocious knock-out punch from Brook in the second round of tonight's fight.
IT'S OVER! A straight right hits home and then a huge right uppercut lands and wobbles Rabchenko!
