The much-hyped opening press conference for Floyd Mayweather flattered to deceive on Tuesday night, as most watching were puzzled by the setup of the event which ultimately distracted from the spectacle.
It was still watched by a crazy amount of people, but by essentially having the fighters deliver speeches with no chance to respond - Conor McGregor's mic was clearly cut off at one point - and address no questions from the media, it really wasn't what it could have been.
A lot of people were unimpressed on social media, but after the main broadcast concluded Conor McGregor conducted a media scrum where he was presented with questions, and this provided the highlight of the night.
McGregor's attention was drawn to Floyd Mayweather Sr, and the two exchanged a few words regarding how they saw the fight going.
I'm just telling you he's too small. Too frail.
You made a big mistake. You got greedy. He could have been 49-0, rode off into the sunset. Trust me, he got greedy here.
It was never going to be the type of thing McGregor is used to, this was Floyd's event, he'd be mad to have discussion with the Irishman, and you could tell both guys were agitated, so maybe it served it's purpose in winding both fighters up. But if there's going to be three more press conferences, we'd be hoping for more than what we got.
The media scrum, however, was well worth a watch, and you can catch it in full below:
