Looking to be behind on the cards as tonight's World Boxing Super Series final went into its 7th round, Callum Smith knocked out George Groves to win the inaugural Muhammad Ali trophy.
Threatening with a few heavy hits throughout, Groves nevertheless looked to have the measure of what Smith had to offer.
The 28-year-old Liverpudlian, fighting in his first world title fight, had a perfect professional record coming into tonight's bout.
Having previously beaten Erik Skoglund and Nieky Holzken to reach tonight's final, the youngest of the famous Smith brothers now is the new WBA super-middleweight champion of the world.
As for Groves, it marks a fourth defeat of his professional career. The 30-year-old London-born fighter looked disconsolate after failing to get up after a barrage of Smith's punches.
