Limerick's WBO World middleweight champion Andy Lee and undefeated mandatory challenger Billy Joe Saunders have weighed in over in Manchester, and at the third time of asking, the fight is finally on.
There was no Kid Chocolate-type drama this time around for Lee, as 26-year-old Saunders tipped the scales at 11'6 amidst a feverish atmosphere. The champ was quick to follow Saunders to the scales, weighing in an ounce less than his opponent from Hatfield at 11'5'12.
Both fighters have remained respectful throughout the elongated build-up to this highly anticipated clash - new ground for Saunders, in some respects - and though that pattern continued during the stare-down, Lee's unfurling of the tricolour certainly heated things up within an already raucous atmosphere.
The southpaws will finally do battle for the WBO crown at about 23:00 on Saturday night, exclusively live on BoxNation.
