The referee in tonight's Carl Froch and George Groves WBA and IBF title encounter controversially stopped the fight in the 9th round when he deemed Groves unable to defend himself.

Groves was leading on all scorecards at the time and had knocked Froch to the floor in the first round. The consensus from the commentators on the fight was that Groves should definitely have been given more time to get back into the fight.
