35-year-old Rod Salka got his comeuppance last Thursday night after the super featherweight wore boxing shorts resembling a brick wall with the message 'America 1st' written across the waistband, making reference Donald Trump's insistence on building a wall to border Mexico in order to keep immigrants out of the US.

Salka only lasted six rounds against Mexican fighter Francisco Vargas, the American's corner throwing in the towel before the seventh round could commence, in the most poetic of defeats.

Vargas controlled the fight from start to finish, Salka taking a knee in the fifth round, and the Mexican opened a cut on the 35-year-old's eye in the sixth round after a flurry of punches and fans wasted no time in ridiculing the fighter for his choice of attire:
