Jake Gyllenhall will star in a new boxing film from Antoine Fuqua, the director of Training Day, titled 'Southpaw'. We had previously heard about this film only due to a single screenshot featuring an absolutely shredded Gyllenhall, which was enough for us to list the film as one of our 5 sports movies to look forward to in 2015, and the new trailer confirms that the 'Donnie Darko' and 'Nightcrawler' actor hit the gym HARD for this one.
The movie looks like it could be a cracker, obviously with a boxing film is going to involve an underdog element, but the glimpses of the plot we saw from this quick preview have left us eager to see the finished article.
Colour us interested.
Gyllenhall has been in excellent form lately, and we're trusting the genius who brought us 'Training Day' to ensure a good watch in this one.
