The eyes of the sporting world were on Dusseldorf as the hype ended and we finally got the heavyweight clash that we had all been looking forward to.
Tensions were running high early on, as Fury's camp was extremely upset that Klitschko had begun to have his hands wrapped without a member of Fury's entourage present, and threatened to call of the fight if he didn't re-wrap.
Another row backstage! Team Fury unhappy with Klitschko hand wraps! Wladimir forced to cut them off and start again.
— Sky Sports Boxing (@SkySportsBoxing) November 28, 2015
Team Fury are 100% correct making Klitschko redo the handwraps, putting them on without the oppositions rep there is highly suspect
— EBOXINGNEWS (@EBOXINGNEWS) November 28, 2015
But nothing other than a minor delay to the entrances was the end result.
Everybody tuned in just in time to see Rod Stewart attempt to sing, and it's didn't go down too well:
Hope Fury puts up a better performance than Rod Stewart ! ?
— Darren Huckerby (@hucks6dh6) November 28, 2015
Fair play Rod Stewart for somehow becoming the oddest thing about this entire Klitschko/Fury build-up.
— Kristian Walsh (@Kristian_Walsh) November 28, 2015
That idea u had to put Rod Stewart in the boxing ring....not the best
— Andy Goldstein MBE (@andygoldstein05) November 28, 2015
But soon the fighters were making their way to the ring.
What the hell is Tyson Fury's entrance music ?
— Liban (@LibanAliAhmed) November 28, 2015
Hope Tyson Fury wins here, worst entrance song ever though ?
— Sean Field (@field_sean) November 28, 2015
#klitschko instantly my fave after coming out to THE CHILLI PEPPERS

DING DING - Round 1
Most gave it to Fury but there wasn't much in it.
Fury very confident and totally unfazed. Won first round
— Ian Darke (@IanDarke) November 28, 2015
Not much in the first round, probably edge towards Fury for looking the more adventurous and landing more shots ?
— Danny Mc (@dannymccrorie) November 28, 2015
The same could be said for rounds 2 & 3.
2-0 Fury. Not unexpected but Wlad knows the score. Will have expected and prepared for this. Looks anxious, mind. But then, he tends to.
— Gavan Casey (@GavanCasey) November 28, 2015
First 2 rounds to Fury! Interesting. Can he keep it up for 12 though #klitschkofury
— Chris Eubank Jr (@ChrisEubankJr) November 28, 2015
Before Wladimir started to come back into it.
4th round + there's a bit more urgency from Klitschko, his partner Hayden Panettiere is a bit nicer on the eye than the fight #klitschkofury
— Liam Maddison (@LiamMediaOnline) November 28, 2015
Klitschko finally threw the right hand and its the 4th round.
— Carp (@robcarpenter81) November 28, 2015
5 and 6 were much tougher to call.
5-1 Fury. He's doing just enough to win. I won't be sad if he gets robbed. #KlitschkoFury
— Frank Anguiano (@FrankAnguiano) November 28, 2015
Another round for Klitschko that's 4-2 by me.. #klitschkofury
— Jamie Funnell (@funnellboi) November 28, 2015
Anyone's fight #klitschkofury
— James Elgar (@jameselgar) November 28, 2015
And a few fans became a bit disgruntled:
"Stop, stop" #klitschkofury
— Simon Peach (@SimonPeach) November 28, 2015
Listen, I like boxing. I really do. But #klitschkofury is helping the "Boxing is Dead" movement so much it's insane.
— Robbie Fox (@ThatRobbieFox) November 28, 2015
Come on and hit him Klitschko! Christ. You can't win without throwing a bloody punch #klitschkofury
— Matthew Wardhaugh (@Matthew__w) November 28, 2015
"Stop stop stop stop. Stop stop stop. Stop stop stop" . #klitschkofury
— Jack Alex Turner (@JackAlexTurner) November 28, 2015
As we entered the latter stages, Fury grew in confidence, and those watching took notice:

It was round 9 when Klitschko finally landed a right hand:
Finally a right hand from the champ but he still needs more will fury slow down from here ? #klitschkofury
— Stu Hindley (@Stu_Hindley) November 28, 2015
Klitschko finally landed two strong right hands. Fury took them OK. #klitschkofury

— Lauro Dos Santos (@EriDosSantos) November 28, 2015
Those watching realised that a tense decision was on the cards:
This is headed for a controversial Klitchko points win or a draw isn't it? #klitschkofury
— Keefe McKenna (@KeefeMcKenna) November 28, 2015
Fury won't win if it goes to the cards regardless of how 'well' he is doing #klitschkofury

— Steven (@stevehotspurs) November 28, 2015
Can feel a moody result coming here #KlitschkoFury
— Lovey (@TonyLove27) November 28, 2015
A point deduction to Fury threw a spanner in the works.
That point deduction probably just ended his chance... #klitschkofury
— Chris Rann (@crstig) November 28, 2015
Dont agrees it's the point off from fury. He's still gonna win if doesn't get ko'd though.
— michael (@bisping) November 28, 2015
Come on tony weeks. Never a point off. Stop turning your back if you don't want to be punched in the head
