Spike O'Sullivan was back in the ring on Saturday night as he took on American Antoine Douglas in Quebec on the Billy Joe Saunders vs David Lemieux undercard.

The Corkman went into the fight as the underdog. Though, it did not play out according to the bookies' expectations.

The 25-year-old American, eight years O'Sullivan's junior, took the opening three rounds. However, O'Sullivan edged his way back to level it up by the end of the sixth.

Just over a minute into the seventh round, as commentator Barry Jones put it, O'Sullivan broke his opponent's heart with an unstoppable onslaught.

In victory, O'Sullivan - now 27-2 in his career - claimed the vacant WBO inter-continental middleweight title,
