With news of their trilogy fight getting confirmed earlier this month, the hype for Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano's third bout is already heating up.

The Madison Square Garden fight is set for July 11th and has been set for ten two-minute rounds, much to Serrano's disappointment. The Puerto Rican unified featherweight world champion called out The Bray Bomber in not keeping a deal they made back in Texas after their second fight.

Per IrishBoxing.com:

I’m disappointed that Katie Taylor did not keep her word and make the trilogy 12 three-minute rounds, equal to the men. This is a record-setting payday for both of us, and we owed it to the fans to honor the handshake deal we made. She didn’t.

However, Taylor has said in the past that she is open to three-minute rounds, believing that it suits her fighting style more.

I actually don’t mind doing the three-minute rounds myself. I think the three-minute rounds actually suit the boxer more than a fighter.

So, it may not be the case of one them pulling out and getting cold feet on the idea, but rather the fact that the World Boxing Council will not sanction 12-round bouts between women, and therefore not make their third clash an official undisputed fight.

Still, the fight is set to be another classic with Taylor looking to make it 3-0 in her fights against Serrano, while the Puerto Rican fighter has her eyes set on a first big win against the Olympic Gold medalist in New York City.

Make no mistake, every time we share the ring, it is war, and I know Friday 11 July will be the greatest yet because I will finally get the official W I deserve.

If the other two fights are anything to go by, their third face-off will be another close one, and fans of both sides are ready to see where this fiery rivalry goes next.
