Justice served. Sam Maxwell has been crowned WBO European super lightweight champion tonight, knocking out Sabri Sediri in the final seconds of their bout in Leicester. Some might say it was a fitting end, with his opponent showboating in the closing stages of the fight.
Having been knocked down twice in the opening rounds and thinking he was trailing on the scorecards, Maxwell came up with the huge knockout late on in order to secure the win. Sediri was clearly confident of seeing out the fight, gloating in the final round when he was on course for the win.
Maxwell kept his concentration, picking his moment as the seconds ticked down. With only 14 seconds remaining, he came up with a wonderful two-punch combination to floor Sediri, and it came out of absolutely nowhere.
Woooooow! 😳
Sam Maxwell was losing and being taunted by his opponent all fight and then did this with 10 second to go!
