This is fantastic. Following the passing of one of the most totemic figures of the twentieth centuries, many are highlighting Muhammad Ali's connections with Ireland. Ali's great-grandfather was called Abe O'Grady, and hailed from County Clare.
Ali also beguiled Croke Park with his presence in 1972, fighting Alvin 'Blue' Lewis on July 19 of that year. That fight was later remembered in the official GAA boys' Annual of 1981. There was a double-page spread, with the first showing Ali getting to grips with hurling under the tutelage of Eddie Keher as part of the pre-fight publicity:
The left-hand page featured a full-size reproduction of Ali's right fist, inviting readers to compare theirs in size:
