Paddy Barnes, like most sports fans, was likely keeping an eye on the golf over the weekend. It was the final major of the year after all.
Rory McIlroy placed 17th at the PGA Championship picking up $148,000 for his four days of work.
Knowing that despite McIlroy being well down the pecking order he was still going to pick up a sizeable cheque - plus, you know he's already pretty wealthy - Barnes plotted a proposition for the four-time Major winner.
If McIlroy pays off Barnes' mortgage, then the Belfast boxer will allow him the privilege of being his roommate when they are both part of the Irish Olympic team next summer.
@McIlroyRory if you pay my mortgage off for me I'll let you share a room with me at @Rio2016_en

They're both football fans, they're both from the North - it's a match made in heaven.
Plus, Rory gets the benefit of rooming with an Olympic veteran. No way he rejects this opportunity.
