Paddy Barnes coasted through his professional debut against Bulgarian Stefan Slavchev, in Belfast eventually winning out having seen his opponent disqualified in the fourth round for bizarrely hoisting Barnes over his shoulder; a move more at home in the WWE.
Barnes was absurdly dominant, and Slavchev spent much of the fight grappling and clinging on to Barnes, before taking it to an illogical conclusion with a minute to go in the fourth round.
Following disqualification, Barnes waded over to ask his opponent why he lifted him, saying that it was "stupid". Slavchev didn't even bother sticking around for the official announcement. Watch the incident below,
Paddy dominated the fight, and in the second round, a series of 'Olés' rang around the arena as news filtered through of Irish heroics in Chicago.
Barnes is targeting a world title within ten bouts, and far stiffer tests will lie ahead.
Nonetheless, not a bad start to professional life for Paddy.
