Just seven weeks after a horrific double leg break, John Joe Nevin has resumed training at Cavan Boxing Club, and is adamant that his injuries will not impede his career ambitions.
The Olympic silver medalist suffered his horrific injuries in April as he tried to mediate in a dispute between extended family members.
Nevin's injuries were such that he was consigned to a wheelchair after suffering through several operations, but the Westmeath man has said that he will not let the incident beat him.
It will be an Olympic challenge but I won't let this incident finish my career.
Nevin won his first professional fight with ease, and is looking to return to professional competition by October. By the looks of things, he is well on his way to a comeback.
