Boxer Kevin Sheehy was killed on July 1, a victim of a hit-and-run in Limerick. Sheehy had an exciting boxing career in front of him, and his death was especially tragic for his young family. His partner Emma was 8 months pregnant at the time of his death. Last Friday, Kevin and Emma's child was born.

Perhaps the stand-out moment of Michael Conlan's 9th round stoppage over Argentinian fighter Diego Alberto Ruiz came after the fight when Conlan's paid tribute to Sheehy his post-fight interview with BT.

Conlan also had 'RIP KS' sewn into his shorts for the fight.

Sheehy's coach Ken Moore paid tribute to Conlan last week when Kev Byrne of the Sun broke the news of the story.
