The man who 'beat' Michael Conlan at last year's Olympic Games was in Dublin on Friday night. Vladimir Nikitin was at the National Stadium for the Elite International Boxing Tournament.
Conlan was eliminated for the Olympics in hugely controversial circumstances last August. Nikitin would go on to claim a bronze medal at the Games.
Since Rio, Nikitin has moved up from bantamweight to lightweight. He was was up against Galwayman Patrick Mongan last night.
After Nikitin took the first round on the South Circular Road, Mongan stormed back in the following two. He eventually won the fight 4-1.

Though he has moved on to start his professional boxing career since that Olympic debacle, Michael Conlan still allowed himself a little laugh at Nikitin's expense last night.
@KevByrneBox Hahaha brilliant go on Pat Mongan!! #UpMongan ?
