Michael Conlan's interview with RTÉ was explosive and fully justified, but if you thought Michael Conlan was going to let this lie there, then you were badly mistaken.
The Irish boxer was blatantly cheated out of the Olympics at the hands of a Russian opponent, and while Conlan and his teammate Paddy Barnes initially aimed their anger at the AIBA, the man who had his Olympic dream stolen has gone after the Russians and he's gone right to the top.
Michael Conlan called out Vladimir Putin to get some answers.
Hey Vlad @PutinRF_Eng
How much did they charge you bro?? @AIBA_Boxing #Rio2016 ?— Michael Conlan (@mickconlan11) August 16, 2016
You can't blame him one bit.
Absolute robbery, blatant cheating, call it whatever you like but Michael Conlan won that fight, and after Russia stole a gold medal in the heavyweight boxing last night, fingers are understandably going to be pointed.
We eagerly await Putin's response.
