Matthew Macklin's trainer Jamie Moore has underwent surgery after being shot twice in his legs in Spain.
Moore was attacked in Marbella, where he is training Macklin ahead of his bout against Jorge Sebastian Heiland in Dublin on 30 August. The former British, Irish and European middleweight champion confirmed that his trainer was in a stable condition on his Twitter account.

Moore was reportedly shot at five times and hit twice, in his leg and hip. It is understood that the Salford native is under armed guard at a Spanish hospital after undergoing successful surgeries.
Moore is a former European light-middleweight champion and actually defeated Macklin in 2006 via knockout. A persistent shoulder injury cut Moore's professional career short in 2010 when he was on the cusp of a world title shot.
