While the exodus of players to Stradbally, Co.Laois for Electric Picnic is a well-documented phenomenon among frustrated GAA managers, few would've expected their young stars to be joined by Olympic Gold Medalists.
Electric Picnic is Ireland's largest music festival and while it's well known for attracting some of the biggest music acts in the world, it's rare Ireland's revered sporting heroes ever make it on the stage at Stradbally.
Que the Wolftones.
After their now-famous performance at last year's picnic, that had revellers overflowing out of the clearly undersized tent and the field that housed the tent, they are back again this year - bigger and better.
The Irish band who are well-known for their famous homage to Celtic and other Irish classics were back at EP again this year, taking to the bigger main stage on Sunday evening this time around.

Kellie Harrington makes surprised Wolfetones cameo
While the crowds were as big as everyone expected and the Wolfetones were received to rapturous cries from the crowd. Nobody received a more fitting welcome than Ireland's recently crowned Olympic Champion Kellie Harrington.
Responding to an invitation from the band to join them on stage, Dublin's Kellie Harrington ran out draped in the tri-colour to chants of Olé Olé Olé from the crowd.

While Kellie may have decided to hang up her gloves after her most recent success, it seems the end of her boxing career could be the beginning of her singing career, with the Olympic gold medalist's winning sing-song earning her an invitation to perform with the Wolfetones in the 3 Arena later this year.
It certainly appears like Harrington is settling into retirement well and enjoying some well-deserved downtime after successfully defending her Olympic title just two weeks ago.
The Dublin native stormed through the 60kg weight category at Paris 2024, adding another Gold Medal to the one she claimed at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.
However, after her sensational victory, Harrington announced that she'd be retiring from the sport, content to end her career as a champion. Unless of course, there's a singer in there somewhere!
