Matchroom boxing have confirmed that Katie Taylor is set for a title defence in Chicago, America on 6 October against Cindy Serrano. This announcement comes despite the fact she is defending those belts at the end of the month in London.
Taylor has stormed through the pro ranks since her transition from amateur boxing two years ago and will fight against Kimberly Connor at London's O2 Arena on the 28 July. She will defend her IBF and WBA World Lightweight titles. Heavyweight Dillian Whyte will fight Joseph Parker at the same event.
Despite this fight, Matchroom announced a return to the US in October for another title defence later this year.

Cindy Serrano is an older sister of Amanda, who has been linked with a future bout against Taylor for some time. The timing of the announcement came in for some criticism online, with fight fans concerned that they may be overlooking this month's contest.
