As the nation hit the snooze button for the third time this morning, Katie Taylor won gold at the World Championships.

Taylor defeated Yana Allekseevna by unanimous decision in Jeju to retain her lightweight title. It is her fifth World Championship gold. The judges scored the fight 40-36, 39-37 and 39-37.
It was expected to be a tough fight for the Olympic gold medalist.
