The second fight of Katie Taylor's professional career will be on the Anthony Joshua undercard in December, according to reports this morning.

The news that Katie Taylor is set to turn professional was greeted with much excitement in this country, with people perhaps eager to see Taylor get the financial reward she deserves for her outrageous sporting talent.

And in a report by Kevin Byrne of the Irish 'Sun' this morning Taylor is said to have been offered two fights before Christmas by promoter Eddie Hearn - with the second of these to be a massive fight on the undercard of Olympic gold medallist Anthony Joshua, whose fight against Wladimir Klitschko in December has been postponed because of a calf injury picked up by Klitschko as well as confusion in negotiations.

Taylor's second fight will reportedly take place two weeks after her pro debut at the Wembley Arena in London on Novermber 26th.

Byrne quotes from a source close to the negotiations who claims there was forthrightness from both Hearn and Taylor - Hearn admitting he had never promoted a female boxer before but would "give it a go", Taylor stating her desire to "be a world champion and to enjoy huge nights befitting of her talents".

It would be great for Taylor to end the year on a high after a hugely disappointing summer in which she crashed out of the Rio Olympics in her first fight. As one of Ireland's best-loved sportspeople, there is sure to be a huge crowd tuning in to watch the early fights of the Katie Taylor professional journey.

First Michael Conlan, then Paddy Barnes and now Katie Taylor - the three fighters who would have been most disappointed with their Olympic results have wasted little time in putting Rio behind them.

Barnes' first pro fight is on November 5th in Belfast, with Conlan making his pro bow at the legendary Madison Square Garden in New York in March.
