Eddie Hearn says that a possible rematch between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano in Ireland will not take place this year.
In an epic battle at Madison Square Garden in late April, Taylor defeated Serrano by split decision to retain her undisputed lightweight world title.
Hearn said immediately after the fight that he wanted to see the rematch happen in Croke Park later in the year.
However, Hearn said this week that Serrano's team do not want the rematch right now.
"They don’t want that fight, unfortunately," Hearn, Taylor's promoter, told the Pro Boxing Fans YouTube channel.
"We've spoken to Jake Paul's team. They don’t want to go to Ireland, they don’t really want a rematch. It was kind of like 'Regardless of the offer, we don’t want to do the rematch'.
"I think they want to go away, build some confidence, get a win in August. Maybe we can look at it next year. It's very disappointing because I love that fight. It's such a great fight, such a close fight.
"It doesn't look like that's a fight, unfortunately, that Amanda Serrano wants."
Serrano hinted last week that she will fight again in August.
