History has repeated itself as Katie Taylor has beaten Amanda Serrano by decision in a classic and like last time in Madison Square Garden, Serrano fans are not happy with the result.
The two women- who were the first female boxers to main event MSG- were on the undercard on the Jake Paul-Mike Tyson card in front of 70,000 people at the AT&T Stadium in Texas and as expected put on a potential fight of the year contender.
The fight wasn't without controversy however as Taylor was accused of 'dirty' boxing tactics and had a point deducted from her for a headbutt on her Puerto Rican opponent.
Nonetheless Bray's finest Taylor still managed to win the bout via unanimous decision to the chagrin of the Netflix commentary team and Amanda Serrano's corner.
Taylor-Serrano Result Leaves Opinions Divided Among Star-Studded Audience
With the hype of Netflix's first live boxing card and the return of Mike Tyson, this fight had a more star-studded audience and many athletes and celebrities took to Twitter.
Many were very complementary of the showing both Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano put on, including American singer Christiana Milian who made sure to point out how the women gave Paul and Tyson a tall order to follow in the main event.
THIS is the fight. #TaylorSerrano2 You men better step your game up. Love you but these girls are about that life!

Golfer Bryson DeChambeau also voiced his praise for the fight, calling it one of the best he's ever seen.
Serrano vs Taylor was one of the best competitive boxing matches I’ve ever seen

NBA legend Magic Johnson was also full of praise for the two but felt that the decision went the wrong way.
I just watched one of the greatest championship fights I've ever seen between Amanada Serrano and Katie Taylor! 🔥 It was action packed right from the first round and both women came to fight. They put on a show for all of us who watched on Netflix. Congratulations to Taylor on…

However, fellow NBA star with the Milwaukee Bucks Damian Lillard and sportscaster Skip Bayless were both more blunt in the feeling of injustice for Amanda Serranno in both of her losses to Katie Taylor.
Boxing is wild man. Serrano beat her twice and lost to her twice

Katie Taylor showed legendary grit and toughness. BUT AMANDA SERRANO CLEARLY WON THAT FIGHT, DESPITE TWO HEADBUTTS, ONE ACCIDENTAL AND ONE NOT.

Men's cruiserweight legend Tony Bellew was a bit more level headed in his analysis of the bout and felt that the judges made the right call declaring Taylor thew winner.
Katie Taylor and Serrano put on another classic but KT just has her number! Both amazing fighters.. there styles gel so brilliantly and I’m sure we’d all love to see a 3rd.. 👏👏

However Wallabies rugby star and part-time undefeated boxer Quade Cooper took to Instagram to voice his displeasure at the result
With the notoriety that this card had and the level of division between the two camps, it feels like this result may be one that will be talked about for a long time.
