Jason Quigley stepped back into the ring for the first time in a little over a year on Saturday night. The Donegal man took on Puerto Rican Daniel Rosario in a fight carried live on eir Sport in Ireland and ESPN2 in the US.
Quigley had suffered a serious hand injury in his previous bout, a unanimous decision win against Glen Tapia.
The 30-year-old Rosario, who went into last night with an 11-3 (10 KO) record took Quigley deep in what was scheduled to be eight rounds at the Marina Bay SportsPlex in Quincy, Massachusetts. Though, 26-year-old Quigley dominated the fight.
In the sixth round, the Ballybofey boxer landed the decisive blow - a left hook to the body which sent Rosario to the canvas with pain etched all over his face.
Quigley is now 14-0 in his pro career with 11 of those wins coming via KO.
