Pugilistic traditionalists say boxing is a sport of not missing, but making others miss. Somebody should probably have told that to Cork welterweight standout Noel Murphy.
The 20-year-old New York native, originally from Macroom (widely regarded as west Cork's Big Apple), has won his opening two bouts as a professional, including a 4th round TKO at Brooklyn's Barclays Center last month.
At such a young age in the pro ranks, the former intermediate national champion will likely be seeking to pick the brains of more experienced fighters on the US circuit for guidance as he climbs the rankings at 147lbs.
And what better man to ask for a few pointers than the best welterweight and all-round boxer on the planet, Floyd 'Money' Mayweather?
Well, it turns out Mayweather is harder to catch than we gave Manny Pacquiao credit for.
God damn you, Leg Day.
Our sympathies to 'The Irish Canelo' - we can only hope Floyd needs some good Irish sparring when he returns in late Autumn.
Cheers to Noel's cousin Billy Murphy for sending this our way.
