The WBC belt is on the line when Patrick Hyland squares off with former US Olympian Gary Russell Jr. in Connecticut on Saturday night - in a fight which you can watch from 3am Irish time on Sky Sports.
It's a chance for Hyland to realise a dream for his late father, Paddy - one of the most colourful and popular figures in the Irish fight game - who took his own life last year after a silent battle with depression. Paddy died just a week before the birth of his grandchild.
The final press conference for the East Coast event was an extremely emotional affair, with Tallaght man Hyland declaring his ambition to take the belt home to Ireland and make his father proud, and promoter Lou DiBella tearing up as he paid homage to the amicable Dub for battling through family tragedy.
Champion and opponent Russell, too, was quick to offer condolences to Hyland, and described his admiration for the Dub's ability to dedicate himself to the sport despite such a personal loss.
It was a strangely cordial and sincere moment for a boxing press conference, but one which garnered much respect from those in attendance.
