Watch: ESPN Ruin Fine McGregor Film With Truly Awful Irish Accent Attempt

ESPN are going deep on Conor McGregor's Irish roots ahead of the bout with Floyd Mayweather. Having commissioned Wright Thompson to write an episode of The Wire in Crumlin, they have produced a short film on McGregor's roots. It's a fine production, in spite of the curious line, "they say you're only as good as where you come from...but that didn't stop him".

It looks great, and includes testimony from McGregor, his father, and myriad Irish fans, but it has been utterly spoiled by the truly awful narration. It's a really poor effort, and it sounds like a man trying to mimic the accent from each of the 32 counties, all at once. Think of the vocal range of Littlefinger from Game of Thrones, and multiply it by about a hundred.
